about

Showpony was founded in 2006 by Emma Henderson. Emma had recently graduated from the Product Design class at the world-famous Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Before that, she worked in the film industry and studied sociology. The road to Showpony was an interesting one!

Emma started screen printing after leaving art school and was quickly hooked. Showpony’s new studio in Govan is now home to a dedicated print room where much of Showpony’s products are handmade.

Emma wanted Showpony to be about concept-based design, for it to be sustainable, and above all, fun and interesting.

Wherever possible, Showpony uses organic and Fair Trade materials.

Trompe l’oeil meaning to ‘trick the eye’ is a theme which runs through much of Emma’s designs, from hiding bugs within the folds of her cushions to using vintage images on modern shapes.

Inspired by honesty, poking fun and small details she creates products that are functional and beautiful.

We like to travel the globe showcasing our collections at – London, New York, Glasgow…
